Kyndryl Expands AI Skilling Programs in India
Kyndryl has announced an expansion of its social impact commitment to provide AI skills training in India. The enterprise services provider aims to train 50,000 students and 30,000 youth through its programs. The initiative also includes training for government employees.
- This initiative is part of a larger $2.25 billion investment commitment Kyndryl announced in August 2025 to expand its operations and build an AI Innovation Lab in Bengaluru. - The training for government employees involves integrating Kyndryl's "AI for Governance" courses into the central Karmayogi iGOT Platform, focusing on AI fundamentals, responsible AI, and cyber safety. - The educational component for students will launch as a pilot program in the cities of Varanasi and Ayodhya, targeting 50,000 students and upskilling 1,000 teachers in 100 government schools over two years. - The program aligns with India's national AI strategy, which prioritizes skilling the workforce to harness AI for economic growth and social development. - This expands on Kyndryl's other large-scale skilling efforts in India, such as the "Cyber Rakshak" program launched in partnership with the Ministry of Electronics & IT, which aims to train 100,000 women in rural areas in cybersecurity. - Upon completion of the "Cyber Rakshak" program, participants receive a joint certification from Kyndryl and the National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology (NIELIT). - Kyndryl is also collaborating with the Indian government on its "Ease of Doing Business" initiative by applying its AI platform, Kyndryl Bridge, to help with regulatory reform. - Kyndryl's client roster in India includes major organizations such as Bangalore International Airport, Canara Bank, and the National Stock Exchange of India.
