Nike Ja 3 drops in Murray State colors

Nike and Ja Morant are celebrating March Madness with the Nike Ja 3 "Murray State" colorway — a tribute to Morant's alma mater featuring the school's signature colors. The release is positioned as a must-have for sneakerheads and basketball fans as tournament season approaches.

Before becoming a Memphis Grizzlies superstar, Ja Morant was the architect of one of the most exciting underdog runs in recent NCAA history at Murray State. In his sophomore season, he became the first player in NCAA history to average at least 20 points and 10 assists per game. This on-court dominance led Murray State to a remarkable upset victory over Marquette in the 2019 NCAA tournament. Morant's electrifying play at Murray State included a rare triple-double in the NCAA Tournament, with 17 points, 16 assists, and 11 rebounds. That season, he led the nation in assists and was honored as the OVC Player of the Year. His No. 12 jersey has since been retired by the university, cementing his legacy. The Ja Morant signature Nike line, which launched in April 2023 with the Ja 1, is Nike's first for a Gen-Z athlete. The line is known for its accessible price point and designs that reflect Morant's dynamic playing style and personal story. The recently released Nike Ja 2 featured a higher cut and incorporated an Air Zoom unit in the forefoot for added bounce. Notable colorways for the Ja 2 included "Induction" and "Purple Sky," which continued the trend of tying the shoe's design to Morant's personal journey and on-court persona.
