Vomitory Announces Death Metal Album
Swedish death metal band Vomitory announced their new album *In Death Throes* will release April 10, 2026, featuring Erik Rundqvist on bass/vocals, Tobias Gustafsson on drums, Urban Gustafsson on guitars, and Christian Fredriksson on lead guitar. The album features artwork by Giannis Nakos and has generated significant fan excitement on social media.
- *In Death Throes* will be the band's tenth studio album and their second since reforming. It follows their 2023 comeback album, *All Heads Are Gonna Roll*, which was their first new release in 12 years. - The band was originally formed in 1989 and released eight full-length albums before disbanding in late 2013. They officially reformed in 2018 for their 30th anniversary after a one-off reunion show in 2017. - This is the first album to feature Christian Fredriksson as a full-time member on lead guitar; he contributed guest solos on the previous album *All Heads Are Gonna Roll*. Fredriksson also contributed to the songwriting on four tracks for the new album and engineered the guitar and bass recordings. - The Gustafsson brothers, Urban (guitar) and Tobias (drums), are both founding members from 1989. After the 2013 split, Tobias Gustafsson and bassist/vocalist Erik Rundqvist formed the death metal band Cut Up. - Drummer Tobias Gustafsson also performed as a session musician for fellow Swedish metal band Amon Amarth on their 2016 album *Jomsviking*. - For the recording, the band returned to Leon Music Studios and producer Rikard Löfgren, who they had worked with on three previous albums: *Terrorize Brutalize Sodomize* (2007), *Carnage Euphoria* (2009), and *Opus Mortis VIII* (2011). - The album's cover artist, Giannis Nakos, also designed the artwork for *All Heads Are Gonna Roll*. Nakos is also the vocalist for the Greek death metal band Mortal Torment and has created artwork for bands such as Suffocation and The Crown.
