Notion launches Database Agents

Notion rolled out Database Agents — autonomous ‘librarians’ that update databases using page, workspace and web context — and began rolling them out to Business and Enterprise plans. The feature formalizes agents as first‑class workspace automation and will change how knowledge bases update and surface facts. (x.com)

Notion opened public beta for Custom Agents on February 24, 2026 and made the feature free to try through May 3, 2026.. (notion.com) Notion describes agents as able to execute multi‑step workflows for up to 20 minutes at a time while persisting context and “memory” inside Notion pages and databases.. (notion.com) The agent surface can create and modify databases, add entries, update properties and views, and ingest external content to populate records and reports. (techcrunch.com). (techcrunch.com) Triggers include schedules, Slack messages, email, and database changes, and Notion lists native integrations with Slack, Gmail/Mail, Calendar, Figma and Linear for agents to pull context.. (notion.com) Notion will meter agent activity on a usage basis via “Notion Credits,” with billing for credits scheduled to begin May 4, 2026 and built-in tooling to monitor agent consumption.. (notion.com) In early testing Notion reported over 21,000 custom agents created by testers and roughly 2,800 agents running continuously inside Notion, with customer case studies citing specific savings such as Ramp’s 20 hours per week and Remote’s >95% triage accuracy resolving 25%+ of tickets autonomously.. (notion.com) Notion highlights enterprise-grade controls for agents including granular permission scoping, version control, usage analytics, and the option to select which AI model an agent uses..
