Navigara Launches to Measure AI Tool ROI

Startup Navigara has launched with $2.5M to build a "performance layer" for engineering teams. The goal is to provide leaders with a way to measure whether expensive AI tools and copilots are actually improving performance and delivering ROI.

The challenge of measuring developer productivity is a long-standing issue, with traditional metrics like lines of code or commit frequency failing to capture the true value of creative and collaborative work. This problem is now amplified by the widespread adoption of AI copilots, making it difficult for leaders to distinguish between a genuine increase in output and mere activity. Navigara aims to solve this by providing objective, data-driven assessments of engineering performance. Founded in 2025 by former CTO Jirka Bachel and ex-Director of Engineering Peter Malina, Navigara analyzes data from version control systems like GitHub and GitLab, as well as project management tools such as Jira and Linear. The platform uses AI agents to evaluate code quality, delivery velocity, and alignment with business goals, creating performance baselines to measure the impact of new tools or process changes over time. This approach is designed to move beyond simple activity tracking to focus on outcomes. The company's seed round was led by Inovo VC, with participation from Rockaway Ventures and QQ Capital. Petr Šmíd, a partner at Rockaway Ventures, noted that after the initial wave of AI adoption, it's crucial to differentiate what truly adds value. Navigara's founders combine deep technical experience from architecting large-scale systems with the operational knowledge of scaling engineering organizations. Navigara's platform is deployed within a customer's private cloud, analyzing code transiently in memory without retaining it to ensure privacy and security. It aims to provide clarity on how engineering efforts translate to business outcomes, helping leaders justify technology investments and optimize team performance. The system generates automated reports intended to give leadership and even board members a clear, third-party view of engineering ROI.
