Art Paris is using its 2026 fair to center two curated ideas — “Babel” and “Reparation” — while expanding a design program inside the Grand Palais. (artparis.com) The 28th edition runs from April 9 to April 12, 2026, in the nave and balconies of the Grand Palais in Paris. Organizers say it brings together about 165 French and international galleries from 25 countries. The official catalogue says those themes structure the 2026 edition. (artparis.com) “Babel” tracks how artists in France have used words, signs and multilingual exchange in art from the 1960s to today. Euronews reported that the section links language to migration, identity and translation rather than treating text as decoration. (euronews.com) “Reparation” focuses on artists working with damaged histories, broken materials and acts of restoration. In the fair’s framing, the subject reaches from personal memory to colonial legacies and environmental loss. (euronews.com) (designboom.com) The design expansion is not a side room. Art Paris says the French Design Art Edition has returned to the north balconies after its 2025 debut, with a larger selection of design and contemporary decorative arts. (artparis.com) That addition changes the fair’s mix. Alongside the general sector, Art Paris is also running Solo Show presentations, the Promises section for galleries less than 10 years old, and prize programs including the Her Art Prize and the FD100 Prize for Design. Art Paris returned to the renovated Grand Palais in 2025, and organizers are again using the restored Belle Époque building as a backdrop for a fair that wants to look both regional and international. (artparis.com) (grandpalais.fr) Ticket prices show the event’s scale as a public fair as well as a trade gathering: the Grand Palais lists full-price admission at 30 euros, with higher-priced premium options at 35 euros and reduced student rates. (grandpalais.fr) This weekend’s message is plain enough in the program itself: Art Paris is pairing a market for modern and contemporary art with exhibitions about speech, history and repair, then giving design more floor space than it had a year ago.
