BMW Drops M2 Track Kit
BMW just unveiled a new M Performance Track Kit for the M2, plus a lightweight exhaust for the M2 CS. The kit includes adjustable aero and suspension parts designed for track-day enthusiasts. This gives M2 owners serious performance upgrades straight from BMW.
The new M Performance Track Kit was fine-tuned by Jörg Weidinger, a BMW M test engineer and race car driver, with aerodynamic components tested in BMW's own wind tunnel. This factory-developed package is a direct response to the extensive aftermarket tuning scene that has grown around the M2. A prominent feature is the manually adjustable swan-neck rear wing, a design borrowed directly from BMW’s M4 GT4 and M4 GT3 race cars. The wing has a "Race Mode" that shifts it back by 50 millimeters for increased effectiveness on the track and a "Street Mode" to comply with German road traffic regulations. The suspension receives a significant overhaul with a threaded chassis featuring four-way adjustable rebound and compression damping. This is BMW's first road-legal motorsport-derived coilover system, allowing drivers to lower the ride height by up to 20 millimeters. For the M2 CS, the new M Performance exhaust system sheds 8 kilograms (about 17.6 pounds) compared to the standard part. It features optimized exhaust routing for a sharper sound and can be optioned with tailpipe trims made from carbon fiber and titanium. The M Performance Track Kit will be available starting in July 2026. In Germany, the price is set at €23,500 (roughly $27,500), excluding installation, while the exhaust for the M2 CS starts at €8,343.50 (about $9,800). U.S. pricing will be announced closer to the third-quarter 2026 release. Notably, the Track Kit focuses entirely on aerodynamics and handling, with no modifications to the M2's twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter straight-six engine. Power output remains at 473 horsepower and 406 pound-feet of torque for the manual version.
