Hyderabad Emerges as Fintech Hub

The city's growth is anchored by T-Hub, a public-private partnership established in 2015 that has since become the world's largest innovation campus. This state-backed incubator has supported over 2,000 startups and helped facilitate more than $1.94 billion in funding. Hyderabad is now home to 739 FinTech startups, 147 of which are funded. The ecosystem's focus is increasingly on lending, with many firms using machine learning algorithms to offer collateral-free loans to SMEs and MSMEs by analyzing non-traditional financial data. The city is transitioning from a backend support location to a "decision hub" where AI-led, API-first lending systems are being developed. Local SaaS companies like AllCloud are building unified lending technology platforms, reflecting a move toward cloud-native, microservices-based infrastructure over monolithic systems. While Bengaluru still has more total Global Capability Centers (GCCs), Hyderabad is rapidly gaining ground. In 2025, Hyderabad attracted 41% of all new greenfield GCCs in India, significantly outpacing Bengaluru's 25%, driven by superior infrastructure and lower operational costs. This growth has attracted global financial giants, with Vanguard, UBS, Wells Fargo, JPMorgan Chase, and Goldman Sachs all operating major technology and analytics centers in the city. Looking ahead, the Telangana government's "Telangana Rising 2047" vision aims to make Hyderabad a global fintech destination. The plan includes initiatives like establishing an AI City and using blockchain for industrial clearances to attract the headquarters of major banks and financial institutions.
