Web hosting platform SiteGround has launched Coderick AI, a new tool designed to make custom software development accessible for small businesses. The AI app builder aims to remove the technical and financial hurdles that typically prevent smaller companies from creating their own applications.
Coderick AI enters a growing market of "vibe coding" and no-code platforms, where users can build applications by describing their needs in natural language. The tool is designed to create production-ready applications, not just prototypes, and includes features like version control and user authentication right out of the box. This approach is aimed at overcoming the limitations of other AI builders that may produce fragile or incomplete code. A key differentiator for Coderick AI is its seamless integration with SiteGround's hosting infrastructure. While many AI app builders require users to find separate hosting, database, and security solutions, Coderick AI bundles all of these components. This creates a single workflow for building, deploying, and hosting an application. The platform is capable of generating a wide range of applications, from websites and landing pages to more complex internal tools like CRMs and client dashboards. In a live demonstration, the tool was used to build a staff scheduling app for a restaurant with a login, calendar, and shift management. Another example showcased the creation of a veterinarian clinic's website that included a booking system with integrations for Google Calendar, Apple Calendar, and Outlook. Coderick AI operates on a subscription model with paid plans that include the AI builder chat, custom domain support, and user authentication features. The pricing structure is based on credits, with the initial creation of an application consuming more credits than subsequent small changes. One early test of the feature by a media outlet concluded that while promising, the AI tools were not yet fully mature.
