Bella Hadid Debuts Retro Bangs
Supermodel Bella Hadid debuted groovy, retro-inspired bangs at Milan Fashion Week, channeling 1970s energy and setting a playful tone for spring beauty trends. She's also collaborating with Miss Sixty on a cowgirl-inspired denim line, describing her love for the classic 'uniform' of jeans and western motifs.
Hadid's new look coincided with her first design collaboration with Italian label Miss Sixty, for whom she has been a brand ambassador for three years. The 35-piece capsule collection is heavily influenced by Hadid's own personal fashion archive from the 1990s and the Y2K era. The model has been collecting pieces from Miss Sixty for the past decade. Her collection features low-rise bootcut jeans with diamanté details and chequered print shirts, aiming to capture the essence of a "real cowboy look." For the collaboration's campaign, Hadid served as a co-creative director, working with photographer Yasmine Diba to create a surrealist '90s shopping mall setting. The campaign's aesthetic draws inspiration from iconic films of that era, such as *Mean Girls* and *Jennifer's Body*. The retro bangs themselves are a nod to 1970s hairstyling, popularized by cultural icons like Farrah Fawcett and Brigitte Bardot. This style, often called "curtain bangs," was known for framing the face and complementing long, natural hair, a look also sported by musicians like Joni Mitchell.
