Philatron Introduces Halogen-Free Power Cables
Philatron introduced Philaflex-HF-125™ halogen-free power cables for AI data center applications. The cables support +125°C continuous operating temperature, addressing the high-density, industrial-power demands of AI data centers.
The Philaflex-HF-125™ cables address the increasing demand for higher temperature-rated wiring in AI data centers. AI workloads create sustained electrical stress, leading to continuous heat generation that exceeds the limits of standard 90°C rated cables. Localized hotspots near high-current connectors can also degrade standard materials. Halogen-free cables minimize the release of toxic gases and smoke in the event of a fire, reducing risks to human health and property. Traditional halogen-containing cable compounds can release dense, corrosive smoke that impairs visibility and can damage sensitive electronic equipment. Low-smoke, halogen-free flame-retardant materials significantly reduce these risks. Philatron Wire and Cable was founded in 1974 by Phil Ramos, Jr.. The company is a family and disabled veteran-owned business. Philatron specializes in extra-large size flexible cables and coiled cables/cords. Philatron's headquarters is located in Santa Fe Springs, California. The company generates approximately $19.8 million in revenue and has an estimated 32 employees. Philatron has been recognized as the Medium Family Owned Business of the Year by the Orange County Business Journal.
