Vietjet announced an “unprecedented capacity increase” across markets including Singapore, Thailand, Indonesia, Japan, South Korea, China and Russia to capture peak‑holiday demand. (travelandtourworld.com)

Vietjet is adding flights for Vietnam’s late-April and early-May holiday rush, putting nearly 3,800 flights into the market between April 25 and May 5. (vietjetair.com) The airline said the holiday schedule is 500 flights larger than the same period last year, a 16 percent increase, with 832,000 seats on sale, up 18 percent year over year. (vietjetair.com) Most of the extra flying is aimed at domestic trunk and leisure routes linking Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang, Nha Trang, Hue, Quang Binh, Quy Nhon, Tuy Hoa and Phu Quoc. Vietjet also pointed to newly opened international routes including Da Nang-Jakarta, Nha Trang-Singapore and Hanoi-Shizuoka. (vietjetair.com) The timing is tied to Vietnam’s Hung Kings Commemoration Day and the April 30 Reunification Day-May 1 Labor Day break, one of the country’s busiest annual travel windows. Vietjet paired the schedule increase with fare promotions announced on April 13. (vietjetair.com 1) (vietjetair.com 2) This push comes after a year of broader international expansion. By September 30, 2025, Vietjet said it was operating 219 routes, including 169 international routes, with a fleet of 98 aircraft and a seat load factor of 86 percent. (ir.vietjetair.com) Russia is part of that network build-out. Vietjet said in June 2025 that it had launched its first direct services between Vietnam and Russia, linking Nha Trang with Vladivostok, Khabarovsk and Blagoveshchensk, and the airline is now selling Russia-bound itineraries on its website. (vietjetair.com 1) (vietjetair.com 2) The airline is also preparing for another fleet step-up. Vietjet’s January 2026 investor bulletin said the first Airbus A330 deliveries from an order for 40 aircraft would arrive in 2026 to support longer-haul growth toward Europe and the United States. (ir.vietjetair.com) For now, the immediate bet is simpler: add seats before the holiday crush, fill them on the busiest Vietnam city pairs, and use new regional links to pull more travelers through Vietjet’s network.
