New Strategy Games Launch on Steam
Several strategy titles launched recently including 大戦略SSB2 on February 25, expanding the classic military strategy genre with updated systems. Veil of Ashes entered with a unique cyclical resource system ensuring players can rebuild armies after losses, while Reigns: The Witcher debuted across PC, Android, iOS, and Mac.
- *Daisenryaku SSB2*, from developer and publisher Systemsoft beta, Inc., features over 300 modern weapons and introduces five levels of altitude for combat, adding "high sky" and "sea inside" to the classic land, sea, and air. - The game also incorporates new strategic resources, "industrial power" and "fuel," which players must manage to build and maintain their forces. - *Veil of Ashes* is set in a dark, steampunk-inspired alternate 19th century and is the product of German indie developer Greifenmaer. - The game features three factions: the fanatical Sacrum Imperium, the feudal Lohenreich with their heavy tanks, and the agile, mass-focused socialist Communes. - *Reigns: The Witcher* was developed by Nerial and published by Devolver Digital, with lore oversight from CD Projekt RED. - Its gameplay is presented as the bard Dandelion recounting Geralt's adventures, with the player's choices shaping the narrative by swiping cards left or right. - The core mechanic of *Reigns: The Witcher* involves balancing four key attributes: Geralt's relationships with humans, non-humans, and sorcerers, as well as his dedication to the Witcher's path.
