Paris Baguette Opens in Richardson, TX
The global bakery café chain Paris Baguette opened a new location in Richardson, Texas, on February 27. The opening is part of the brand's rapid expansion in the U.S., as the company has over 4,000 locations worldwide.
The new Richardson location is part of an ambitious U.S. expansion, with Paris Baguette aiming to operate 1,000 stores in the country by 2030. The bakery-cafe chain has seen rapid growth, with its U.S. store count increasing by 27% in 2024 and plans to open over 150 new locations in 2026. Texas is a key part of this growth strategy. The Richardson opening marks the 25th Paris Baguette in the state. To support its growing presence, the company is investing $160 million in a new 260,000-square-foot manufacturing facility near Fort Worth, which is expected to create 450 jobs. The franchisees for the Richardson store are two local couples, Sweta Goyal and Puneet Mittal, and Mamta and Rajneesh Singhal. They were longtime fans of the bakery and have signed a five-unit development agreement to open more locations in the North Texas area. Despite its name, Paris Baguette is a South Korean company founded in Seoul in 1988. Owned by the SPC Group, it first entered the U.S. market in 2005 and has built a reputation for its French-inspired breads, pastries, and cakes. The brand has experienced significant financial success recently, achieving 19 straight quarters of positive same-store sales. In fiscal year 2024, the chain's U.S. sales grew by over 30% to $462 million, with average store sales approaching $3 million annually. Customers at the new location can expect a wide variety of items baked fresh daily. The menu includes over 80 items, from croissants and mochi donuts to signature layer cakes, as well as a selection of sandwiches, salads, and specialty coffee drinks.
