PLAVE released its fourth mini-album, “Caligo Pt.2,” on Sunday, led by the title track “Born Savage.” (youtube.com) The digital release went live at 6 p.m. Korea Standard Time on April 13, and the physical album is scheduled for April 14. Official teasers and the group’s Weverse posts listed the same rollout dates. (weverse.io, weverse.io) Spotify lists “Caligo Pt.2” as a five-song extended play, and YouTube’s auto-generated credits for “Born Savage” say the song was released through VLAST on April 13. The credits list PLAVE among the lyricists, composers and arrangers, alongside HANGANG, WWW and MeQue. (open.spotify.com, youtube.com) PLAVE is a five-member virtual boy group created by VLAST, with members Yejun, Noah, Bamby, Eunho and Hamin. The act debuted on March 12, 2023, and performs through motion-capture avatars rather than appearing onstage as live-action idols. (vlast.com, kprofiles.com) That format has moved from novelty to scale in South Korea’s album market. PLAVE’s previous mini-album, “Caligo Pt.1,” sold more than 1.2 million copies on Circle Chart after its February 3, 2025 release, according to compiled Circle data. (soridata.com, koreansalestwt.blogspot.com) “Caligo Pt.2” also extends a storyline PLAVE has been building across recent releases. A teaser report in Sports Kyunghyang said the “Born Savage” video shows the members confronting “Caligo,” echoing the darker concept introduced in “Caligo Pt.1.” (sports.khan.co.kr) The new release was previewed in stages before Sunday’s drop. PLAVE posted a prologue, a highlight medley and multiple physical-album previews on Weverse and YouTube in the week leading up to launch. (weverse.io, youtube.com, weverse.io) The packaging points to the kind of collectible strategy that now drives many K-pop physical sales. Weverse’s packshot notice showed photobook, Inventory, ID Pass and Poca Album editions, while fan databases counted 16 total versions across those formats. (weverse.io, kpop.fandom.com) For PLAVE, the release closes the gap between teaser week and album day with the group’s biggest test this year: whether a virtual act that already broke into million-seller territory can do it again with “Born Savage.” (youtube.com, soridata.com)
