AssetView Launches Personal Investment Dashboard

A new personal investment dashboard called AssetView has launched, offering to aggregate data across accounts with a focus on privacy. The platform provides advisor-grade analytics and optional AI-powered portfolio insights. The launch reflects a growing demand from individual investors for more sophisticated, self-directed wealth management tools.

- The founders of AssetView, including CEO Nicholas Laurie, previously built and bootstrapped Mainstreet Commerce, an order-management platform. Mainstreet Commerce was later acquired by Demandware in a deal for which specific financial terms were not disclosed; Demandware was subsequently acquired by Salesforce. - AssetView offers a tiered subscription model that includes a free "Essential Edition." Paid tiers include an "Investor" plan at $15 per month and a "Business" plan at $50 per month, which offer increased capacity for tracking accounts, assets, and transactions. - The platform's "advisor-grade analytics" include a "Life Planner" tool that allows users to model financial outcomes based on different life events, such as retiring at 62 versus 65. It also has features to identify tax-loss harvesting opportunities and track projected cash flow. - The dashboard is designed to handle a wide range of asset classes beyond typical stocks and bonds, including private funds and cryptocurrencies, providing detailed analytics like internal rates of return (IRR) and cost basis for these less liquid assets. - The launch comes as the market for personal finance apps is projected to grow significantly, from an estimated $31.7 billion in 2025 to $173.6 billion by 2035, with wealth management and automated investing expected to be a major segment. - A key feature is the optional "AI Insight Engine," which allows users to generate portfolio analysis while controlling the level of data they share, addressing privacy concerns. The platform also includes an "AI Import Engine" to pull in financial data from various file formats like CSV, XML, and Excel.
