Aha Indian Cuisine Opens in Brookfield

A new restaurant, Aha Indian Cuisine, is celebrating its grand opening in Brookfield, Wisconsin. The opening event features a three-day buffet special for customers.

The new restaurant occupies the space formerly held by Had's Indian Cuisine at 2345 N 124th St, shifting the culinary focus from a general Indian menu to the specific flavors of South India. Aha Indian Cuisine's menu centers on the traditional cooking of South India, a region known for rice-based dishes and the use of ingredients like lentils, coconut, and tamarind. This style is generally considered lighter than the wheat-based and creamy dishes more common in North Indian cuisine. Signature South Indian items featured on the menu include soft steamed idlis (fermented rice and lentil cakes) and crispy dosas (savory crepes), both traditionally served with sambar and chutney. The restaurant also offers a variety of biryanis and flavorful curries like Chicken Chettinad and Andhra Chicken Curry. The menu also highlights less common specialties such as Palnadu Karam Chicken, Goat Sukka, and Apollo Fish, alongside a selection of Indo-Chinese dishes. For those familiar with Indian cuisine, the restaurant provides a range of vegetarian options, including various paneer dishes and dal preparations.
