UK-to-Vietnam Walker Shares Update
Chubby Trekka shared a motivational video update on his epic UK-to-Vietnam walking trek, gaining 8 likes and 358 views. The #UKtoVietnam adventure represents one of the most ambitious overland treks currently underway. His journey showcases the ultimate in adventure destination exploration.
The man behind the trek, Luke Deakin, began his journey on September 16, 2024, stepping off from his hometown of Stratford-upon-Avon in the UK. His mission is not to break records but to demonstrate that ordinary people are capable of achieving extraordinary goals through determination. Deakin's planned route is a massive undertaking, spanning approximately 15,000 kilometers on foot. After leaving the UK, he crossed through France, Belgium, Luxembourg, Germany, Austria, Hungary, Serbia, and Bulgaria before entering Turkey. He is no longer walking solo. His partner, fellow travel content creator Sophie Tang, joined him in Istanbul on March 22, 2025, to walk the entire Asian leg of the journey. The duo has since adopted a stray dog named Belle, who now accompanies them on their trek to Vietnam. The next stages of the trek will take them through Georgia, Azerbaijan, and across the Caspian Sea to Kazakhstan. From there, the planned route includes Uzbekistan, Afghanistan, Pakistan, India, Bangladesh, Myanmar, Thailand, and Cambodia, before finally reaching their destination in Vietnam.
