OpenAI links ChatGPT to banks

OpenAI said on May 15 that it had begun previewing a personal finance experience inside ChatGPT for Pro users in the United States, adding bank-account linking through Plaid and a dashboard for spending, bills, subscriptions and investments. The company said users can ask questions based on their own financial data after connecting accounts and granting permission to share that information with ChatGPT. OpenAI said the feature is limited to ChatGPT Pro users in the U.S. during the preview. The publication attributed that gap to regulatory and market structure barriers in France, where account-aggregation rules and local providers shape access differently from the U.S. Plaid-led model.
