Showplace Cabinetry has named the winners of its 2025 design contest, with projects from Colorado, New Jersey and Virginia taking top category honors. (kitchenbathdesign.com) The Harrisburg, South Dakota, cabinet maker said the annual competition drew 130 submissions across six categories. Winners were chosen for design excellence, use of Showplace products, craftsmanship and aesthetic impact, according to the company. Spencer Home Center of Lexington, Virginia, took first place in Bathroom. (kitchenbathdesign.com) The rest of the field shows how the contest is structured. Showplace listed 16 winners across Large Kitchen, Small Kitchen, Bathroom, Other Rooms, Non-Paint and New Products, plus honorable mentions for three dealers. (showplacecabinetry.com) The winning projects also point to what cabinet makers and designers are selling right now: kitchens built around storage, integrated appliances and mixed finishes, and bathrooms designed to pull more utility into the same footprint. Showplace said the entries ranged from large kitchen remodels to bathrooms and specialty spaces. (showplacecabinetry.com) In the Large Kitchen winner, Salem Point Design built a spec-home kitchen with built-in refrigerator, freezer and wine columns, plus what Showplace’s trade coverage described as a “working triangle” layout for cooking and entertaining. The project was designed to balance clean lines with warm finishes. (woodworkingnetwork.com) Brown & Glynn’s Small Kitchen winner came from a renovation in downtown Cranbury, New Jersey, in a house more than 180 years old. The project updated appliances and storage while preserving the older home’s character, according to Woodworking Network’s contest roundup. (woodworkingnetwork.com) Spencer Home Center’s bathroom winner turned a former child’s bedroom into a combined primary bathroom and laundry room, designer Jessica McCullough said in a February profile in The News-Gazette. She said the job used custom pocket-door hardware and concealed pullout storage to fit the homeowners’ request. (thenews-gazette.com) Showplace said the winning projects are being featured on its website and social channels, turning the contest into both an industry award and a sales showcase for its dealer network. Bill Allen, the company’s chief executive, said the submissions reflected “the strength of our network” and the “passion” of its designers. (showplacecabinetry.com)
