CIA Reportedly Aided Israeli Strike

The CIA reportedly played a crucial role in the recent Mideast escalation by helping Israel pinpoint a high-level gathering of Iranian leaders just before an Israeli strike. This unprecedented intelligence sharing triggered Iran's massive retaliation and reveals a deep integration between U.S. and Israeli security operations.

The CIA's intelligence gathering on Ayatollah Ali Khamenei was a months-long endeavor, providing "high fidelity" information on his location that ultimately accelerated the timeline for the Israeli strike. This intelligence pinpointed a Saturday morning meeting of senior political and military figures at a leadership compound in Tehran. The daylight attack was a surprise, involving a barrage of nearly simultaneous strikes on multiple locations within the capital. Among the targets was the compound housing the offices of the supreme leader and other high-level government bodies. The operation reportedly killed not only Khamenei but also around 40 other senior figures, including the head of the Revolutionary Guard and the defense minister. Iran's response was swift and widespread, with the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps announcing the "most devastating offensive operation in the history of the Islamic Republic of Iran". The retaliation involved launching hundreds of ballistic missiles and drones at Israel and U.S. military bases across the Middle East. The retaliatory strikes targeted U.S. facilities in Bahrain, Kuwait, and Qatar. Attacks also hit civilian and economic infrastructure in the Gulf, with explosions reported in Dubai. In Israel, Iranian missiles struck several locations, including Tel Aviv and a residential area in Beit Shemesh, resulting in civilian casualties.
