Dott and Segway Partner for Milan Events
Micromobility operators Dott and Segway have announced a partnership to promote green mobility at the Milan Winter Events 2026. As part of the collaboration, Segway will provide Dott with its shared e-bike model to serve attendees and residents during the events.
- This partnership follows Dott's recent merger with competitor Tier in January 2024, a move aimed at creating a European micromobility champion with a combined fleet of 250,000 vehicles across more than 400 cities. - Dott is one of only two e-scooter operators currently permitted to operate in Milan, alongside Lime, with each company allowed a fleet of 2,000 e-scooters. - Segway's shared e-bike models, like the Urban series, feature swappable batteries that are compatible with some of their scooter models, potentially streamlining Dott's operational efficiency for a mixed fleet. - The collaboration aligns with Milan's broader strategy to promote green mobility and integrate micromobility with public transport; passengers on Milan's public transit system (ATM) can bring bicycles and scooters on board for free. - Dott has a "repair first" policy for its vehicles and aims for 100% green operations, which includes using electric vans and cargo bikes for logistics and running operations centers on 100% renewable energy. - In Milan, micromobility operators face regulations that include a maximum speed of 20 km/h for e-scooters and a fleet size limit of between 500 and 2,000 vehicles per operator. - Dott has previously partnered with Segway for fleet upgrades, such as launching the Segway Urban B200 e-bike model in Paris in late 2025. - A significant portion of Dott's rides, over 33%, connect with public transport services, reinforcing the role of micromobility as a first- and last-mile solution in urban areas.
