NIO launches ES8 Xuanjin special edition

Nio used the 2026 Beijing Auto Show on April 24 to launch the ES8 Mirrorblack Edition, a special version of its flagship three-row electric sport utility vehicle. Buyers can also choose Battery as a Service, which cuts the upfront price to 348,800 yuan. The special edition was launched alongside the opening of the Beijing show, where Nio displayed 11 models and 12 technologies from Nio, Onvo and Firefly. On April 23, the company said it had delivered the 100,000th third-generation ES8 in Beijing, 215 days after deliveries began in September 2025. It also said the ES8 was Beijing’s top-selling large sport utility vehicle in the first quarter, regardless of powertrain or price band. The company said the move was meant to keep sales momentum in a high-margin model and widen the user base through more personalized configurations. Nio says the model uses a standard 102-kilowatt-hour battery, dual motors with 520 kilowatts of output, and a 0-to-100-kilometer-per-hour time of 3.97 seconds. In its August 2025 ES8 launch materials, the company said that network was part of the model’s pitch for large family electric vehicles. Nio said April 24 was the first time its three brands shared one booth at a major show, and it used the event to tee up the April 28 debut and pre-sales start for the Onvo L80.
