Kevin Durant Reaches 32,000 Career Points

Houston's Kevin Durant scored 40 points in a 113-108 victory over the Orlando Magic, surpassing the 32,000 career point milestone in the process. In another close game, Royce O’Neale hit a clutch three-pointer to secure a 113-110 win for the Phoenix Suns against the Los Angeles Lakers.

With his latest scoring outburst, Kevin Durant now has 32,006 career points. He is now chasing Michael Jordan for fifth place on the NBA's all-time scoring list. Jordan, the legendary Chicago Bulls guard, sits at 32,292 career points, a mark Durant is on pace to surpass this season. The only active player with more career points than Durant is LeBron James, who is the league's all-time leading scorer. Ahead of Jordan on the list are Kobe Bryant (33,643), Karl Malone (36,928), Kareem Abdul-Jabbar (38,387), and James. This season, the 37-year-old has been averaging 25.8 points per game. His consistent scoring throughout his 18-year career has placed him in elite company, with many analysts considering him one of the most efficient and purest scorers in the history of the game. Durant's scoring prowess is often highlighted by his four NBA scoring titles, a feat only surpassed by Michael Jordan and Wilt Chamberlain. His unique combination of height, at nearly seven feet tall, and guard-like shooting skills makes him a matchup nightmare and is a key reason he is widely regarded as one of the greatest scorers of all time.
