TECNO Unveils AI-Powered Phones
TECNO is set to unveil its new flagship CAMON 50 smartphone series at MWC 2026 in Barcelona. The launch will focus on AI-driven imaging capabilities and a broader ecosystem of AI-integrated products.
The upcoming CAMON 50 series is the latest step in a long-standing strategy for TECNO, which has focused on camera technology since the first CAMON phones were released in 2015. The initial CAMON C5 and C8 models were designed to deliver better low-light performance at a time when many affordable smartphones struggled with grainy images. This focus on imaging has been a core identity for the series, which has since evolved to incorporate AI-enhanced photography. At last year's MWC in Barcelona, the company previewed its AI-driven "One-Tap FlashSnap" feature with the CAMON 40 Series, which was designed to optimize shutter speed for clearer and faster photos. The company's presence at the event has grown to include concept devices, such as an ultra-thin smartphone and a tri-fold concept, signaling broader ambitions in mobile innovation. The new CAMON 50 series will integrate Sony hardware with a dedicated AI computing architecture. This combination enables features like "Super-Zoom FlashSnap" for high-speed captures without shutter lag and "AI Auto Zoom," which intelligently frames subjects. Beyond the camera, TECNO is positioning the CAMON 50 as a "Creative AI Hub." This includes an AI Art Gallery for transforming photos and productivity tools like One-Tap FlashMemo. The phones will also feature a deeply integrated version of the company's "Ella" AI assistant. The launch also marks the official start of a strategic partnership with Tonino Lamborghini. This collaboration will extend beyond smartphones to include co-created devices like a gaming mini-PC and a limited-edition POVA Metal phone, fusing TECNO's technology with the iconic design of the Italian brand. TECNO's broader strategy involves building an interconnected AI ecosystem. This includes MEGABOOK laptops, AI-enhanced smart wearables, and a cross-device connection solution called OneLeap, all intended to create a seamless intelligent experience for users. The company is also showcasing a modular magnetic smartphone concept, exploring flexible hardware that can be adapted with modules for photography, gaming, and more.
