Prezi Named a Top AI Presentation Tool

Prezi has been recognized as a leading AI-powered presentation platform in a 2026 review by Software Experts. The company was noted for its ability to turn simple prompts or existing documents into structured, visually engaging presentations.

Founded in Budapest, Hungary, in 2009, Prezi was the brainchild of Adam Somlai-Fischer, Peter Halacsy, and Peter Arvai. The company's signature zooming, non-linear presentation style was a departure from the traditional slide-by-slide format, attracting early investment from TED Conferences just two months after its incorporation. By 2025, Prezi had grown to over 160 million users worldwide, who had collectively created approximately 400 million presentations. The company is privately held, with significant venture capital backing from firms like Accel Partners and Spectrum Equity. Its last major funding round was in 2014, bringing its total raised capital to over $71 million. The presentation software market is experiencing rapid growth, with a projected size of $8.29 billion in 2025 and an expected rise to $15.76 billion by 2029. A major driver of this growth is the integration of artificial intelligence and the increasing demand for video-powered presentations. North America currently represents the largest market for presentation software. Prezi's move into AI-powered features with Prezi AI, introduced in 2024, aligns with these industry trends. The AI can generate entire presentations from a text prompt or existing documents, create visuals, and refine text. This allows users to quickly develop structured and visually engaging presentations. Before the launch of its full AI suite, Prezi expanded its offerings with Prezi Video in 2019. This tool allows presenters to appear alongside their content in a video feed, a feature that became particularly relevant for virtual meetings. While a significant player, Prezi holds an estimated 3.61% of the presentation software market. It competes with established giants like Microsoft PowerPoint and Google Slides, as well as newer, design-focused platforms like Canva, which holds a majority of the market share. The company's business model operates on a freemium and subscription basis, offering different tiers for individual, team, and enterprise use. Prezi has historically targeted both the educational and business sectors, providing free licenses to schools and developing business-specific features like real-time data analytics and collaboration tools. The current CEO is Jim Szafranski, who took over from co-founder Peter Arvai in July 2020. Arvai now serves as the executive chairman.
