Canopy Connect has added a new “sharing path” to its insurance intake platform, letting agency clients offer prospects more than one way to submit policy information. (coverager.com) The update, announced April 22, 2026, adds a configurable selection screen inside Canopy’s Link Flow so a prospect can choose between connecting a carrier account, uploading a declarations page, filling out a form manually, or asking for a phone call from an agent. (globalfintechseries.com) Before this change, people who clicked a Canopy link were taken straight into the carrier-connection flow, even though document upload and forms were already available elsewhere in the platform. Canopy said making those options visible up front is meant to reduce drop-off when the first screen feels unfamiliar. (coverager.com) Insurance intake is the front end of the quoting process: agencies need a prospect’s current policies, drivers, property details and loss history before they can prepare a quote. Canopy’s pitch is that consumer-permissioned carrier data is faster and more accurate than collecting details by phone or through long web forms. (independentagent.com) Canopy formally expanded from verification into a broader intake platform in July 2024, when it combined carrier connections with forms, document upload and data enrichment in one workflow. At that point, the company said more than 1.9 million insurance policies had been securely shared through the platform. (usecanopy.com) The company now says the platform is used by more than 20,000 insurance agents, and partner pages say the data can feed into raters, customer relationship management systems and agency management systems. Those integrations matter because agencies often rekey the same client information across several software tools. (vertafore.com) Industry groups have been pitching the same problem to agents this year. A January 20, 2026 webinar from the Independent Insurance Agents & Brokers of America described Canopy as a way to collect prospect information through branded links, document parsing, direct system integrations and data enrichment. (independentagent.com) Chief Executive Officer Tolga Tezel said the new flow is built around the idea that “not every client wants to share their insurance information the same way.” The product change keeps the opening step simple: give prospects a menu, and let agencies capture the same evidence through the channel the client will actually use.
