HONOR Unveils AI Robots at MWC
At MWC 2026, electronics company HONOR advanced its AI vision by showcasing a new robot phone and a humanoid robot. The company is expanding its AI device ecosystem, which also includes its new flagship Magic V6 phone, as it pushes a strategy of "Augmented Human Intelligence."
The "Robot Phone" is a concept device featuring the industry's first three-axis gimbal camera integrated into a smartphone. This motorized system, part of a compact 4-degrees-of-freedom gimbal, enables the phone to perform physical interactions like nodding, shaking its head, and even dancing to music. At the core of the Robot Phone's camera is a 200MP sensor combined with technology from German cinema equipment company ARRI. The system supports advanced functions like AI object tracking and an "AI SpinShot" feature for smooth 90° and 180° rotational video transitions. HONOR's first humanoid robot was also on display, demonstrating capabilities like performing a backflip and dancing on stage. The company is targeting three main uses for its consumer-grade robots: shopping assistance, workplace inspections, and supportive companionship. Alongside the robots, HONOR launched its new flagship foldable, the Magic V6, which measures just 8.75mm thick when folded. It is the first foldable to achieve both IP68 and IP69 ratings for dust and water resistance and its hinge is rated for 500,000 folds. The Magic V6 is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset and contains a large 6,660mAh silicon-carbon battery, a significant capacity for a foldable device. The internal 7.95-inch screen features a 44% reduction in crease depth compared to the previous generation. These product reveals are part of a broader company strategy called the "ALPHA PLAN," which is built on three pillars: Alpha Phone, Alpha Store, and Alpha Lab. The announcements were presented by CEO Jian Li, who took over the role in January 2025.
