Kriegsfront Tactics Prologue Released

The prologue for Kriegsfront Tactics has launched, highlighting turn-based mecha combat set in 1970s Southeast Asia with emphasis on adaptive strategies. The game features tactical decision-making in a unique historical setting with mechanized warfare elements.

The game comes from Toge Productions, an independent developer and publisher based in Indonesia. While known for the popular visual novel series *Coffee Talk*, Toge Productions is venturing into the tactical RPG genre with *Kriegsfront Tactics*. The studio also supports other Southeast Asian developers through a funding and mentorship program. *Kriegsfront Tactics* is a procedural turn-based RPG that combines elements of classic strategy games with roguelikes. The developers have cited inspiration from genre staples such as *Front Mission*, *XCOM*, and *Darkest Dungeon*. The game features a distinctive low-poly, retro visual style. The narrative is set in an alternate 1970s in the fictional Southeast Asian nation of Nusanesia. A conflict is raging between the UOC Colonial Government and the newly formed Republic of Nusanesia, and players command a mecha squad operating behind enemy lines. This setting is described as a Vietnam-War-inspired alt-history. Gameplay revolves around squad management, including recruiting pilots who each have their own skills and backstories. Mechs are highly customizable, allowing players to salvage parts, change liveries, and equip different weapons. The game also promises to feature difficult moral decisions that will test the player.
