Saints Legend Cameron Jordan Hits Free Agency
New Orleans Saints all-time sack leader Cameron Jordan announced he's entering free agency after a record-setting run with the franchise. Jordan's departure signals major roster reshuffles across the NFL as teams prepare for the 2026 season. The veteran pass rusher joins a growing list of notable players changing teams, including the Bears' expected release of linebacker Tremaine Edmunds.
A first-round pick in the 2011 NFL Draft, Cameron Jordan spent his entire 15-year career with the New Orleans Saints. He was selected 24th overall out of the University of California. Jordan's tenure in New Orleans was marked by consistent high-level performance, earning him eight Pro Bowl selections, the most for a defensive player in Saints history. He also received one first-team All-Pro selection in 2017 and was named to the NFL's 2010s All-Decade Team. He leaves the franchise as its all-time leader in sacks with 132. This places him among the top pass rushers in NFL history. In 2022, he surpassed former Saints linebacker Rickey Jackson to claim the record. Throughout his career, Jordan was a model of durability, starting 242 of the 243 regular-season games he played for the Saints. His leadership was also recognized by the team, as he was selected as a defensive team captain for eight consecutive seasons.
