Downtime Nightclub to Open in SF Mission
The owners of San Francisco's Bar Part Time are opening a new nightclub called Downtime in the Mission District. The new venue will also feature a food menu, adding a new nightlife and culinary option to the city's entertainment scene.
- The new venue, Downtime, is a partnership between Bar Part Time's co-owners Justin Dolezal, Jeremy Castillo, and Dan Small, and veteran bartender Eric Ochoa of the nearby cocktail bar Dalva. - The nightclub will be located at 2243 Mission Street, taking over the 6,000-square-foot space formerly occupied by the Senegalese restaurant and club Bissap Baobab. - The food program will be managed by the team from Rose Pizzeria, a nationally acclaimed Berkeley restaurant, but the menu will specifically not include pizza. - Bar Part Time, the owners' first establishment, began as a popular pop-up during the pandemic and is known for its focus on natural wine and late-night DJ dance parties. - The beverage menu at Downtime will feature "zero-zero" natural wines, the strictest category of natural wine with no additives. - Eric Ochoa will head the cocktail program, which is expected to be "inventive, delicious, classic" and comparable to the unfussy, balanced drinks served at Dalva. - The significantly larger space will allow for a bigger dance floor and a custom sound system, indicating a strong focus on the music and nightlife experience. - The ownership team is targeting a late-fall opening for the new nightclub.
