Iran Threatens U.S. Tech Giants in Israel/UAE
Iran's threats against U.S. tech companies like Amazon, Nvidia, and Palantir operating in Israel and the UAE sparked market jitters.
The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has identified almost 30 locations in Bahrain, Israel, Qatar, and the UAE housing offices, data centers, and research facilities of U.S. tech companies as potential targets. This followed claims that their technology was used for military purposes. These "legitimate targets" reportedly include facilities operated by Amazon, Google, Microsoft, Nvidia, Oracle, IBM, and Palantir. Iran alleges these companies have links to Israel and are used for military purposes. Amid rising tensions, some companies are taking precautions. Citigroup, Deloitte, and PwC have already evacuated offices in Dubai and other Middle Eastern locations. Nvidia temporarily closed its Dubai office, instructing employees to work remotely.
