XPENG Reports February EV Deliveries
Chinese AI mobility company XPENG announced it delivered a total of 15,256 vehicles in February 2026. The figure provides an early-quarter snapshot of consumer demand in the competitive global EV market.
The February delivery figures reflect a notable decrease from the 20,011 vehicles XPENG delivered in January 2026. This downturn is also apparent in a year-over-year comparison, with the company delivering 30,453 vehicles in February 2025. The broader auto industry in China experienced a slowdown in February, largely attributed to the Lunar New Year holiday. In the competitive Chinese EV market, XPENG's February performance places it behind rivals NIO and Li Auto, which reported 20,797 and 26,421 deliveries, respectively. Meanwhile, industry giant BYD experienced its most significant sales drop since the pandemic, and Tesla has been contending with slowing sales and increasing inventory in the Chinese market. Changes in government incentives are also shaping the market, with a shift from flat-rate subsidies to a percentage-based model that favors more premium vehicles. Additionally, the purchase tax exemption for new energy vehicles has been modified, with a 5% tax now in effect for many EVs in 2026. XPENG is pushing forward with technological advancements, with plans to roll out its second-generation Vision-Language-Action (VLA) model in March 2026. This end-to-end autonomous driving solution aims for a more intuitive and human-like response by processing visual data directly into actions, bypassing language translation steps. Volkswagen has been announced as the first customer for this advanced AI-driven technology. The company is also expanding its product line and global reach. In January 2026, XPENG launched the 2026 P7+ sedan, G7 Super Extended-Range, and updated versions of the G6 and G9. The global rollout of the P7+ began in February, targeting 18 countries. Furthermore, XPENG is set to launch the fully electric version of its X9 MPV in the UK in mid-2026, followed by a new flagship G9L SUV later in the year.
