Ankara Changes Traffic Flow Near Shopping Mall

A new one-way traffic system will be implemented near a major shopping mall in Ankara starting tomorrow. The change is designed to ease chronic traffic congestion in the area.

The traffic reconfiguration targets the area around the Kentpark and Cepa shopping malls, a major commercial hub on the Eskişehir Road, which is one of Ankara's most critical and congested arterial routes. The Ankara Metropolitan Municipality's Transportation Coordination Center (UKOME) initiated the plan to address frequent gridlock, particularly during peak hours and weekends. Under the new system, the service road in front of the malls will be converted to a one-way flow towards the city center (Kızılay direction). Traffic coming from the opposite direction (Eskişehir) will now access the malls by proceeding to the Dumlupınar Boulevard-Sabancı Boulevard intersection and making a U-turn.
