Nigel Sylvester Gifts Jordan Sneakers
BMX legend Nigel Sylvester hand-delivered his upcoming Air Jordan 4 colorway directly to Michael Jordan himself. The unreleased sneaker collaboration is generating major buzz among sneakerheads ahead of its official drop.
Nigel Sylvester made history in September 2021 as the first-ever BMX athlete to officially sign with Jordan Brand. His relationship with Nike, however, dates back over a decade, with his first collaboration being a Nike SB Dunk High in 2014. The upcoming sneaker is named the Air Jordan 4 "Brick After Brick," a direct sequel to his successful 2025 "Brick by Brick" release. A key design detail is the heel branding, which swaps the traditional "Nike Air" logo for "Bike Air," a signature nod to Sylvester's BMX career. The hype surrounding this release is built on past success; Sylvester's previous Air Jordan 4 "Brick by Brick" was named Complex's 2025 "Sneaker of the Year." That shoe retailed for $225 and currently commands an average resale price of around $600. This new "Brick After Brick" colorway features a Sail and Cinnabar palette, drawing inspiration from the classic "Fire Red" Air Jordan 4. The shoe is reportedly scheduled to be released on May 9, 2026, with a retail price of $225. Long before the hand delivery, Michael Jordan himself provided a major co-sign by wearing the unreleased sneakers publicly at Disney World in February 2026. This rare public endorsement from "His Airness" immediately amplified the buzz for the collaboration. Beyond the world of sneakers and BMX, Sylvester is a recognized cultural influencer. The Queens, New York native was named to Forbes' "30 Under 30" list in 2017 and has created his own popular "GO" video series, which has garnered over 100 million views.
