2027 Four-Star WR Commits USC
USC landed a commitment from 2027 four-star wide receiver Quentin Hale as recruiting heats up in college football. Meanwhile, Deion Sanders is innovating Colorado's spring ball approach and Oregon State secured $25 million for their new Field Sports Building. Nebraska's Matt Rhule, Rob Aurich, and Dana Holgorsen are previewing spring practices in Lincoln with video breakdowns available.
- Quentin Hale is considered the No. 10 wide receiver and the No. 52 overall prospect in the 2027 class, choosing USC over offers from LSU, Texas, and Oklahoma. He is the fourth and highest-rated commit for the Trojans' 2027 class, which is currently ranked No. 18 in the country. - In his junior season at Cathedral High School, the 6-foot-3, 190-pound receiver recorded 62 catches for 872 yards and 12 touchdowns. Hale will play his 2026 season at Centennial High School. - Hale's commitment underscores USC's renewed focus on recruiting Southern California talent, as all four of their current 2027 commits are from the region. - At Colorado, Deion Sanders has replaced the traditional offense-vs-defense spring practice format with a player-led draft. Three-player leadership groups drafted their own teams to compete against each other in all drills and scrimmages, with scores being kept throughout the spring to increase competition. - The new draft format was implemented after the NCAA disallowed a proposed joint spring practice between Colorado and Syracuse. - Oregon State's new 15,000-square-foot Field Sports Building will be the home for the men's and women's soccer, track and field, cross country, and softball teams. Construction on the facility, funded by $25 million in donations, is scheduled to begin in July. - Nebraska's spring practices started earlier than usual, with 15 sessions leading up to the Red-White Spring Game on March 28. - Offensive coordinator Dana Holgorsen stated a key focus for Nebraska's spring practice is for the wide receivers to evolve from being primarily good blockers into players who consistently make big plays. Head coach Matt Rhule also announced that 13 players will be out for the spring due to injury.
