Anthropic is trying to turn Claude from a chatbot into a desktop coworker. That’s the real story here. The shift matters most in finance, where the work is repetitive, file-heavy, and painfully spread across Excel, PowerPoint, Word, PDFs, and email. On May 5, Anthropic made that push explicit by releasing 10 finance and insurance agent templates inside Claude Cowork and Claude Code, plus Microsoft 365 add-ins that let context move across apps.
