Coachella site to host new EDM festival

The Coachella site will host a new EDM event called Head Trip this October, featuring Calvin Harris, Fisher & Chris Lake, and more.

Goldenvoice, the company behind Coachella, is organizing the "Head Trip" festival, scheduled for October 10 and 11 at the Empire Polo Club in Indio. The two-day event will feature a single stage with no overlapping sets, and will include special installations and curated stage designs. Besides Calvin Harris, other major acts include Swedish House Mafia, Skrillex, Peggy Gou, Dom Dolla, and more. Floating Points will perform all weekend on the Sunflower Sound System stage, featuring tapestries and artwork by Josephine Chime. Music festivals act as economic engines, creating jobs, boosting tourism, and fostering business growth. Festivals also provide exposure for local businesses and attract investment in local infrastructure. Coachella, for example, generated an estimated $704 million for the Coachella Valley and $1.6 billion for Southern California in 2023. Similarly, Miami-Dade County has seen over $1 billion in economic activity from the Ultra Music Festival over its 24-year run.
