Broncos Re-Sign Trautman and Strnad
The Denver Broncos are bringing back two of their own, re-signing tight end Adam Trautman and linebacker Justin Strnad to new three-year deals. The moves signal Denver's focus on maintaining continuity on both sides of the ball.
Adam Trautman's new three-year, $17 million deal includes $9.5 million in guaranteed money. The contract's maximum value can reach $18.5 million through incentives. This agreement was reached just hours before he could have entered the free agent market, where five to six other teams had expressed strong interest. Primarily valued for his blocking ability in coach Sean Payton's offensive scheme, Trautman played in all 17 games last season, starting 12 of them. He was on the field for an average of 60% of the offensive snaps. In the 2025 season, he recorded 20 receptions for 195 yards and one touchdown. Justin Strnad's three-year contract is worth $18 million and includes $10 million in guarantees. The deal locks in a key player who has become a crucial part of the defense, especially when filling in for injured starters over the past two seasons. Strnad is coming off his most productive season, where he registered 58 tackles, 4.5 sacks, eight quarterback hits, three pass breakups, and an interception. He made eight starts last season stepping in for the injured Dre Greenlaw and has been a core special teams player throughout his five-year career in Denver.
