Comedian Dusty Slay Performing in Virginia Beach

Dusty Slay is known for his blue-collar, storytelling style of stand-up, often drawing on his upbringing in a trailer park in Opelika, Alabama. His signature look includes a trucker hat, long hair, and oversized glasses, which he says is not a cultivated persona but simply his everyday appearance. Before pursuing comedy full-time in 2014, Slay worked various jobs, including as a pesticide salesman and waiting tables. He began his comedy career in the improv scene in Charleston, South Carolina, in 2004 before moving to Nashville. In 2019, at age 36, Slay became the youngest comedian to perform at the Grand Ole Opry. Slay’s career gained significant momentum with appearances on *The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon* and *Jimmy Kimmel Live!*. He was also featured in *Variety*'s "10 Comics To Watch" list in 2019. He has released multiple specials, including a half-hour on Netflix's *The Standups* in 2021 and his first hour-long Netflix special, *Workin' Man*, which premiered in January 2024. Another special, *Wet Heat*, is slated for a July 2025 release on the platform. Alongside his stand-up, Slay co-hosts the "Nateland Podcast" with fellow comedians Nate Bargatze, Brian Bates, and Aaron Weber. He also hosts the "We're Having A Good Time" podcast with his wife, Hannah.
