Fremont Restaurant Week Kicks Off with 70 Deals
The 2026 Fremont Restaurant Week has officially begun, featuring special promotions and meal deals at 70 participating local restaurants. The event is designed to support the city's culinary scene, offering a wide range of cuisines for local workers and residents to explore.
This year's event, running March 6-15, marks the fourth consecutive year for the city's restaurant week. The annual celebration has seen significant growth, expanding from an initial 40 participants in its inaugural 2023 run to 70 local eateries for 2026. The 10-day event is a collaboration between the City of Fremont's Economic Development Department, the Fremont Chamber of Commerce, and Yelp, aimed at bolstering small businesses during a typically slower period. Following the first restaurant week, a survey of participating establishments showed that the overwhelming majority attracted new customers, increased their revenue, and boosted their brand awareness. In a survey after the inaugural event, 92% of participating restaurants reported an influx of new customers. Additionally, 75% of the restaurants saw a boost in foot traffic and overall revenue, with a majority reporting at least a 25% increase in revenue. Diners can expect a wide array of exclusive deals, special menus, and limited-time items. Past promotions have included multi-course prix-fixe dinners, unique burger creations, and special pairings of food and drinks, showcasing the culinary diversity of Fremont. The event highlights a broad spectrum of cuisines, from Mexican and Italian to Indian, Southeast Asian, and French. This diversity is a key feature, with Fremont's mayor, Lily Mei, previously noting the event as a "culinary extravaganza featuring over 45 local restaurants showcasing the flavors of our region." To encourage exploration, diners can use a "restaurant passport" to track their visits to different eateries. In previous years, completed passports were entered into a raffle for prizes, with over 3,000 passports being submitted in 2024.
