Fred again.. Brings Out Daft Punk
Fred again.. brought Daft Punk's Thomas Bangalter on stage at his London show in a rare historic moment. This marks one of the few public performances by a Daft Punk member since the duo's split, electrifying both longtime fans and industry insiders.
The collaboration took place on February 27, 2026, during the final night of Fred again..'s residency at London's Alexandra Palace. Fred again.. revealed on Instagram that the duo had spent the entire week in the studio preparing a unique, one-off show specifically for that evening's performance. This London appearance marked Thomas Bangalter's first time performing in the UK in over 18 years. His last UK performance was with Daft Punk during their legendary "Alive 2007" tour at Wireless Festival in Hyde Park. Unlike a previous, more subtle collaboration in Paris in October 2025, the London set was heavy on Daft Punk nostalgia. The setlist included iconic tracks like “One More Time,” “Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger,” “Around the World,” and their collaboration with The Weeknd, “Starboy.” The Paris meet-up in 2025 was itself a landmark event, representing Bangalter's first public DJ set in approximately 16 years. Since Daft Punk officially disbanded in February 2021, Bangalter has primarily focused on solo orchestral and film score compositions, making his return to a live electronic setting exceptionally rare. Daft Punk's last live performance as a duo was at the 2017 Grammy Awards, where they played alongside The Weeknd. Their final full tour concluded more than a decade earlier, in 2007. Fred again..'s star-studded London residency also featured guest appearances on other nights from artists including Mike Skinner of The Streets, Underworld, and La Roux.
