The AeroPress Go is a compact version of the original AeroPress, designed for travel and outdoor use. It was launched in mid-2019 and includes a mug that doubles as a carrying case. The Go is small enough to fit in a camping backpack. Alan Adler, the inventor of the AeroPress, is a Stanford University engineering lecturer also known for inventing the Aerobie flying ring. He sought to create a coffee maker that reduced bitterness and acidity. Adler experimented in his garage in 2004 and unveiled the AeroPress at CoffeeFest Seattle in 2005. The AeroPress Go combines immersion and pressure to brew coffee. It can brew American, espresso, and cold brew style coffee. The Go can brew up to three shots of espresso or one 8 oz cup of coffee. Compared to a French press, the AeroPress Go produces a cleaner cup of coffee with less sediment. The French press, however, makes a bolder, full-bodied brew. The AeroPress is also quicker, brewing in as little as 60 seconds.
