Crime101 Gets 88% on Rotten Tomatoes

New releases for the holiday weekend include "Crime101" with 88% on Rotten Tomatoes starring Chris Hemsworth with glowing reviews, hitting theaters February 13. "GoodLuckHaveFunDontDie" earned 91% RT while "Scarlet" received Certified Fresh status with IMAX limited releases.

- "Crime 101" is based on a novella by author Don Winslow and is directed by Bart Layton, known for the documentary "The Imposter." The plot centers on a jewel thief, played by Chris Hemsworth, who operates along the Pacific Coast and is pursued by a veteran detective, played by Mark Ruffalo. - The film is described as a character-driven thriller inspired by Michael Mann's 1995 film "Heat." The cast also includes Halle Berry as an insurance investigator and Barry Keoghan. - The weekend's other major release, "GoodLuckHaveFunDontDie," is a science fiction action-comedy from director Gore Verbinski. Its plot involves a man from the future, played by Sam Rockwell, who travels to the past to recruit patrons from a diner to combat a rogue artificial intelligence. - "Scarlet," an animated fantasy film from Japanese director Mamoru Hosoda, is inspired by Shakespeare's "Hamlet." The film follows a princess on a quest for vengeance after her father's murder. - "Crime 101" marks a reunion for Marvel Cinematic Universe actors Chris Hemsworth and Mark Ruffalo in a non-superhero setting. Principal photography for the film began in Los Angeles in October 2024. - The animated feature "Scarlet" had its world premiere at the Venice International Film Festival. It had a one-week qualifying run in IMAX in December 2025 before its wider theatrical release.
