Five Arrested After Police Chase in Vallejo
A police chase in Vallejo ended with the arrest of four adults and one juvenile. Authorities recovered three loaded firearms from the scene. The circumstances that initiated the pursuit have not yet been disclosed by police.
- The pursuit began around 11:18 p.m. on a Wednesday when officers attempted to stop a black Toyota Camry for its tinted front windows near Sacramento and Alabama streets. - The chase concluded when the Camry reached a dead end in the 200 block of Wilson Avenue, at which point all five occupants fled on foot in different directions. - A perimeter was established, and all five suspects were located and detained without injury; they were found hiding in various places, including under parked cars, inside a dumpster, and in yards. - Of the five individuals arrested, three were identified as juveniles. Two were taken to the Solano County Juvenile Detention Facility, while the third was cited and released to a parent. - The two adult suspects were booked into the Solano County Jail. - One of the recovered firearms was in a bag discarded during the foot chase, another was found along the suspects' path, and the third was in a purse carried by one of the individuals. - The Vallejo Police Department has initiated more vehicle pursuits than many other larger California law enforcement agencies, with 586 chases occurring since 2020. - A 2023 analysis by the Vallejo Police Department revealed that the majority of its pursuits were initiated due to nonviolent offenses or traffic violations.
