Lucky Yu in Edinburgh is the only Scottish restaurant added in Michelin’s April 2026 Guide update. (edinburghnews.scotsman.com) (guide.michelin.com) The restaurant is at 53-55 Broughton Street and appears in the 2026 Michelin Guide as a new ££ “Asian Influences” listing. (guide.michelin.com) Michelin’s inspectors called it a “buzzing little bistro” and singled out fried chicken karaage, the signature “Dirty Rice,” and apple pie gyozas. (guide.michelin.com) (edinburghnews.scotsman.com) Lucky Yu opened on Broughton Street in 2023 after moving from Bruntsfield. The team is led by owner John Howard and serves Asian-inspired small plates from ex-Gardener’s Cottage chef Duncan Adamson. (edinburghnews.scotsman.com) The April addition comes after Michelin’s main Great Britain and Ireland 2026 ceremony on February 9 in Dublin. Michelin said the full 2026 selection includes 1,210 restaurants, with 230 starred. (guide.michelin.com) Those monthly additions are separate from the February star and Bib Gourmand awards. Michelin says inspectors stay on the road year-round and add restaurants that merit inclusion after the ceremony. (edinburghnews.scotsman.com) (guide.michelin.com) Scotland had picked up two new Michelin stars in February, and two more guide additions in March: Dogstar in Leith and The Whitehouse Restaurant in Lochaline, Oban. (guide.michelin.com) (www.scotsman.com) Lucky Yu’s inclusion does not mean a Michelin star. It means Michelin inspectors now recommend it in the 2026 guide, extending the restaurant’s reach beyond Edinburgh’s local dining scene. (guide.michelin.com)
