Dirty Blonde released "DIRTY BLONDE | Indie Sleaze," a new alt-rock track https://x.com/i/status/2031647230315180059, showcasing their rising popularity with a new layer of sound https://x.com/i/status/2031647230315180059.

"Indie Sleaze" is described as an indie-pop banger that embodies the spirit of the 2007 NME Awards, drawing inspiration from Pete Doherty and Kate Moss. The band themselves call it "an indie disco anthem built for sticky dancefloors, neon lights and skintight jeans". Dirty Blonde, a Manchester-based duo, comprises Ailis Mackay (vocals, guitar) and Hayley Tait (guitar, backing vocals). They formed after connecting on Instagram in 2022 and discovering a shared musical vision. The band aimed to capture the nostalgia of the early 2000s indie scene with "Indie Sleaze," a time they witnessed but were too young to fully experience. They wanted to create a song that reflected the feeling of being Kate Moss in 2005. Prior to the release of "Indie Sleaze," Dirty Blonde sold out a hometown show at the Deaf Institute in Manchester and won Best Breakthrough EP for "Looking For Trouble" at the 2026 Musos Awards. Louis Tomlinson also invited them to play at his Away From Home Festival in New York. The music video for "Indie Sleaze" was filmed at L16 Studios, the home of Lime Pictures and Hollyoaks, with the help of local Manchester fans and volunteers. The band sought to capture the song's energy in the video, which they found challenging as independent artists.
