Hong Kong Hosts Asia's 50 Best for First Time

Hong Kong is hosting Asia's 50 Best Restaurants awards for the first time, turning the city into a culinary playground this March. The prestigious ceremony has inspired citywide celebrations and attracted the world's most discerning palates. The event marks Hong Kong's ongoing rise as a culinary capital.

This marks a significant milestone for Hong Kong's culinary scene, which has consistently had a strong presence on the Asia's 50 Best Restaurants list. In 2021, The Chairman made history by becoming the first Hong Kong restaurant to be named No. 1. The city also had a strong showing in the 2025 awards, with The Chairman placing second and Wing coming in third. The selection of Hong Kong as the host city follows its recent major wins in the global hospitality sector. In a historic first, the city was home to both the World's Best Bar and the World's Best Hotel in the same year, underscoring its position as a top-tier destination for food and drink. The awards ceremony on March 25th will be the grand finale of a week-long celebration of gastronomy across the city, running from March 20th to 26th. This city-wide event will feature a series of "50 Best Signature Sessions," bringing together internationally acclaimed chefs for exclusive culinary collaborations with Hong Kong's own top talent. These unique dining experiences will see chefs from renowned restaurants in cities like Seoul, Beijing, and Tokyo partnering with Hong Kong establishments. For example, Wing will collaborate with Onjium from Seoul for a menu that merges Chinese and Korean culinary traditions, while Feuille will team up with Beijing's Lamdre for a modern, plant-based menu. The week will also feature a 14-hands dinner with chefs from Hong Kong, Bangkok, and Tokyo, and another powerhouse collaboration between chefs from Hong Kong, Taipei, Tokyo, and Bangkok, all aiming to push culinary boundaries. These events offer a rare opportunity for diners to experience innovative dishes born from the creative synergy of Asia's leading culinary minds.
