Microsoft's Copilot Health Integrates Wearables

Microsoft launched Copilot Health, an AI platform that connects to medical records and aggregates data from wearables like Apple Health and Oura [https://hitconsultant.net/2026/03/12/microsoft-copilot-health-ai-medical]. It aims to help users understand their health data and identify trends, risks, and actionable insights [https://www.theverge.com/tech/893594/microsoft-copilot-health-launch]. Copilot Health also integrates with over 50,000 hospital EHRs [https://hitconsultant.net/2026/03/12/microsoft-copilot-health-ai-medical].

Microsoft's Copilot Health launched with a waitlist on March 12, 2026, and will initially be available to English-speaking adults in the United States. This launch represents Microsoft's most significant push into consumer health AI, placing it in competition with OpenAI's ChatGPT Health and Anthropic's Claude for Healthcare. Microsoft already handles over 50 million health-related questions daily across its AI consumer products like Bing and Copilot. To use Copilot Health, users will create a health profile and can connect data sources such as wearable devices, medical records, and lab results. The tool can analyze lab results, interpret wearable readings, and help users prepare questions for clinical appointments. Copilot Health can access electronic health records from over 50,000 U.S. hospitals and provider organizations through HealthEx, as well as lab results from Function. Microsoft emphasizes that Copilot Health is not intended to replace a doctor but to help users make better use of clinical consultations. Copilot Health conversations and data are isolated from general Copilot, protected with encryption, and secured with strict access controls. Users retain the ability to manage, delete, or disconnect their data at any time, and the information is not used to train AI models.
