Segway scoops two gold awards

Segway said on September 7 that its upcoming flagship eKickScooters, the ZT3 MAX and MAX G3 Pro, won two Gold Awards at IFA 2026 in Berlin. The company said the ZT3 MAX received the All-Terrain Electric Scooter Technology Gold Award, while the MAX G3 Pro took the Long-Range Riding Technology Gold Award. Both models are due to launch in Europe in October 2026, according to Segway’s announcement and an IFA-hosted release. ### Which scooters won, and for what exactly? The ZT3 MAX was recognized for all-terrain riding technology, according to Segway’s Sept. 7 release. The MAX G3 Pro was recognized separately for long-range riding technology, giving the company two product-specific wins rather than a single brand-level award. (prnewswire.com) IFA Berlin’s awards page says the 2026 Innovation Awards cover a range of consumer-tech categories and were announced during the Sept. 4-8 show in Berlin. The event describes itself as a global platform for consumer electronics, home appliances and future technology. ### Why do those two categories matter for scooter buyers? The award labels line up with two of the main claims scooter makers use to separate premium models: rough-surface capability and riding distance. (prnewswire.com) Segway’s own product pages describe the MAX G3 as a long-range, high-performance scooter for commuting and the ZT3 family as built for urban and off-road use. (ifa-berlin.com) The ZT3 Pro D page on Segway’s site lists dual suspension, 11-inch off-road tubeless tires and 152 mm of ground clearance. Those specifications apply to the currently marketed ZT3 Pro variant rather than the newly announced ZT3 MAX, but they show how Segway has positioned the ZT3 line around uneven-surface riding. ### Is this an independent award or a company marketing claim? (segway.com) IFA Berlin operates the Innovation Awards program and says the 2026 winners have been selected. Segway’s award claims also appear in an IFA-hosted virtual press room posting, not only in the company’s own PR Newswire release. The underlying details available publicly on September 7 are still limited. (ie-en.segway.com) Neither the IFA awards page excerpt surfaced in search results nor the Segway release excerpt included judging criteria, scoring details or a full technical specification sheet for the two newly named models. ### What do we know about the launch timing? October 2026 is the next concrete milestone in Segway’s announcement. (ifa-berlin.com) The company said both the ZT3 MAX and MAX G3 Pro are scheduled for a European launch that month, placing the awards just weeks ahead of commercial availability. Berlin is also the immediate backdrop for the rollout. IFA 2026 is running from Sept. 4 through Sept. 8 in Berlin, giving Segway a trade-show stage to present the products before the European debut. ### What is still not public yet? Segway’s Sept. 7 materials did not, in the excerpts available online, disclose European pricing, country-by-country availability or exact on-sale dates in October. (prnewswire.com) The public product pages surfaced in search also point to existing MAX G3 and ZT3 Pro variants, not full launch pages for the MAX G3 Pro and ZT3 MAX named in the award release. (ifa-berlin.com) October 2026 is therefore the next date to watch. Segway has said the ZT3 MAX and MAX G3 Pro will launch in Europe that month, and further details are likely to appear on the company’s regional product pages and IFA-related materials as the rollout approaches.
